Southern Smoke Foundation

Southern Smoke Foundation

A movement based on one simple idea: serve the people who serve us, day-in and day-out.

The unfortunate reality is that working in the food and beverage industry ain’t easy. These jobs require long hours in demanding conditions, oftentimes without adequate pay or benefits to support those who are willing to take it on. Southern Smoke Foundation was launched as a way to offer support for those who support our communities by covering basic living expenses, providing mental health services, family aid, and legal/professional resources.

To date, Southern Smoke Foundation has distributed more than $14.5 million directly to people in the food and beverage industry in need via the Emergency Relief Fund and provided access to nearly 8,000 no cost counseling sessions through our Behind You mental health program.

Each October, Southern Smoke Festival brings the flavor to Houston—a major fundraiser for the organization’s mission.

It also happens to be a pretty kickass time, featuring dozens of incredible chefs doing their thing, along with music, world-class bartenders, and a whole lot more.

And we’re just getting started.
